Janelle Donahue Yeckel

My professional interests have been shaped by an inherent interest in plant science and expanded upon by the good fortune to have participated in engaging research. In particular, I benefitted enormously from experience and mentorship I received during positions with the Johnson Lab at Purdue University and the Fritschi Lab at the University of Missouri.

At DuPont Pioneer, I was challenged to think about in plant phenotyping in different, bigger ways. In doing so, I have become excited about learning new methods of data analysis, to place the data we collect in context with the bigger picture.

My interests include:

• Contributing toward development of less intensive agricultural systems and plant adaptation to increasingly variable production environments, with my background in crop physiology and agronomy.
• Exploring ways to present complex data sets in straightforward and useful ways, acquiring tools of data science at the same time.
